Martin was raised with a heightened awareness of ecology. His investigations into the rural landscape have led him to the unearthing of hidden structures and overlooked socio-political issues. Martin expands his language of the rural landscape through the metonymic implications of his materials. In his current installation Windburnt, Martin creates poetic sculptures that examine privacy infringement and border control.

Martin grew up in Montana where he received his BFA from the University of Montana and in 2011 completed his MFA from the University of South Florida, Tampa. He currently lives in Ellensburg, Washington and teaches at Yakima Valley Community College.
