*SPOILER ALERT* This August, PUNCH is firing on all six cylinders. It’s four on the floor, pedal to the metal, the engines are revving and the catalytic converter has been converted. The bucket seats and safety belts have all got to go. You better have your jumper cables at the ready and your spare tires poised because our veritable pit crew is showcasing our first fully-loaded, fuel-injected car show! This curated group exhibition by some of our favorite grease monkeys features a showroom inspired by sporty stock cars and souped-up speedsters. Mind you, no actual automobiles will be harmed in the making of this artwork displayed in this exhibition.
So, what might you expect at our automotive showcase? Sculpted muffler men? Displays of vintage Hotwheels and modified Matchbox? Airbrushed die cast models of not-so-tame impalas? A reliquary containing moles and mutton chops of the original motorhead Lemmy Kilmister? Perhaps a racing helmet fit for navel gazers and lotus eaters? And just maybe a bootleg video of the time PUNCH sponsored a car and driver in the annual Goldendale Jaycees’ 4th of July Demolition Derby?
Who knows??
But please note, no gas huffers are allowed in this display. Despite the proverbial wisdom, we won’t be making any lemonade out of your lemons. In fact, all citrus fruit is banned from this exhibition. Revel in these revved-up works. Ogle over these over-driven autos. We’ll be spinning more donuts than Krispy Kreme. And rumor has it that Danica Patrick might even make a cameo appearance, but that’s just a rumor.
